What started as James Collins and Sons Ltd. has grown into a trusted name that builders, realtors, and homeowners rely on for professional painting and construction services.
In 2024, our company faced profound loss when Paul suddenly lost his beloved wife, Debi, who served as our secretary and the heart of our office operations. Debi's warmth, dedication, and care touched everyone who worked with Collins Brothers. She left behind her husband Paul, daughter Rachel, Andre, son Andrew and his wife Kendel, and five cherished grandchildren: Faith, Scarlet, Juliet, Jackson, and Daniel.
The Collins Brothers story is one of steady growth, adaptation, and unwavering commitment to quality. From our earliest days working with just five employees to major commercial contracts across Canada and even international work in Japan, we’ve built our reputation project by project. Each decade has brought new opportunities and challenges, but our focus on craftsmanship and client relationships has remained constant.
James Collins establishes James Collins and Sons Ltd., building the foundation with a crew of 5 employees.
The company expands, becoming Collins Brothers Painting Ltd. and Collins Brothers Construction Ltd. with 22 employees, taking on major commercial contracts with General Foods, Zellers, Walmart, and Home Depot alongside prestigious residential projects in Shaughnessy, White Rock, and custom homes throughout the Lower Mainland.
Work expands beyond BC with projects across Canada and in Japan, establishing Collins Brothers' reputation for handling complex projects in diverse locations.
Custom building at Big White ski resort in Kelowna, completing the four-storey, 18-unit, five-star Snow Bird Lodge.
The brothers reach an agreement to divide the company, with Paul keeping the Collins Brothers name and continuing operations alongside one brother, his son Andrew, and two nephews with a focused crew of 6 employees.
Following the sudden loss of Debi Collins, Andrew steps in to lead the company with Paul by his side and Andrew's wife, Kendel, taking over secretarial duties, ensuring the family legacy continues.
Collins Brothers Painting is now led by Andrew with Paul’s continued guidance and support. We hold trades qualification certificates, maintain full WorkSafeBC coverage, and carry comprehensive insurance. Our crew works on projects throughout the Fraser Valley and beyond, from single-family homes to large commercial buildings. We’ve built long-standing relationships with general contractors, property developers, and realtors who trust us to deliver consistent quality on their clients’ projects. Many of our residential customers become repeat clients, calling us back for new projects and referring us to friends and family.
